Cost effective ways to build in Natural Stone
Its safe to say that most builders would prefer the aesthetics of using natural stone over reconstituted or cast stone. A natural stone building has a natural elegance to it, that gives it a timeless quality. However, building with stone is rarely seen as cost effective (with concerns over high wastage and labour intensive laying). Stamford Stone Companys’ Sawn, cropped and tumbled walling stone was created to solve these issues, manufacturing English limestone to an innovative building product, making it a competitive alternative for builders!
The stone is sawn in 4 course heights (65mm, 90mm, 115mm and 140mm) for easy laying and cropped at a depth of 110mm for standard wall cavity’s. It is supplied in random lengths for a traditional look. The walling stone is complemented by a range of architechtural masonry (Quoins, Heads, Cills) in standard sizes to be compatible with the course heights. Of course not all projects are “standard”, and Stamford Stone Company’s’ team of master masons offer a fully bespoke service in architectural masonry.
