Blacknest Park is a contemporary private residence situated on a unique lakeside, nestled within mature, protected woodland. The residence was thoughtfully designed to conserve and enhance the surrounding environment, using materials that complement the natural landscape.
The architect Oliver Steels from ERRAND Studio approached Stamford Stone for this project, after taking inspiration from the dog tooth stonework from the Bishop Edward King Chapel at Ripon College in Oxfordshire. During the planning phase, Stamford Stone provided guidance on the design of the stone, creating intricately detailed concept drawings that aligned with the complex build of the residence.
Collaborating with the architect throughout the project to deliver the client’s vision, we supplied 135m³ of our architectural masonry stone for the building, and 250m³ of material in total; this included Ashlar walling stone, heads, cills, and finial jambs. Using our state-of-the-art 6-Axis Marchetti CNC machine, we created a smooth, bespoke detailed finish using a large volume of our Clipsham cropped naturally-coursed walling stone for the garden. Internally, we supplied stone flooring and tiles.
Since its completion, Blacknest Park has become a family home that will be enjoyed for generations. The use of high-quality materials will ensure that the home remains exquisite yet functional for many years to come.
