Church of King Charles the Martyr

Project Details

Stone has a natural place in ecclesiastical settings so we were delighted when members of this historic church visited us to view our range. There’s a lovely story behind their visit.

The church had been left £100,000 in a member’s will for renovation works. They were keen to invest in a new floor but there was a condition attached – that the stone was not completely full of shells. Thanks to our wide choice, they were able to choose exactly the right design of natural stone to suit the flooring – Audbourn in a honed finish with straight edges.

We supplied 500m2 with an additional 45 linear metres of steps for the altar. The new floor looks wonderful – following installation, the church contacted us to express their joy and to request a brochure to add to their log book so members in many years to come will know what the stone is and where it came from.
